2023-2024 Mainstage Productions 

These fully-staged, professional productions set PYT apart from other performing arts schools. They feature professional adult actors, as well as children and young people, who perform for school and family audiences throughout the year. Participation is voluntary. Students must be at least 6 years old and enrolled in full-year PYT classes in either the Dance or Drama Division in order to audition for roles.

A Christmas Story, The Musical

This musical, which received rave reviews on its Broadway run, is based on the movie classic that runs round-the-clock on television every Christmas. Set in the 1940s in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, the musical follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker and his quest for the Holy Grail of Christmas gifts—an Official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot Range Model air rifle. The delightfully versatile score ranges from gentle ballads to show-stopping full-ensemble numbers. A Christmas Story, The Musical captures holiday wonder with such deliciously wicked wit that it is sure to delight children and grown-ups alike!

The Wolves

The Wolves is a 2016 play by Sarah DeLappe. It premiered Off-Broadway at The Duke at 42nd Street in September 2016.        

The Wolves centers on the experiences of high school girls through their weekly Saturday morning pre-game soccer warm-ups. The play was a finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Sarah DeLappe has written a muscular, lyrical play that will toss students into the chaos of teenage self-discovery.
