Ballet
Ballet is the foundation for all dance forms, and PYT recommends all dance students take Ballet to achieve a solid foundation as they explore the art of Dance. Instruction progresses through basic barre and center work to develop posture, alignment, and flexibility. PYT offers pointe work for the more accomplished dancer.
Creative Dance/Pre-Ballet (Ages 3-5) (3/4 hour)
Mondays 4:15-5:00 PM
The perfect introduction for the future study of all dance techniques, this class explores the basic elements of dance, improves motor skills, promotes self-expression, encourages confidence, ignites imagination, and supports social development. No previous training is required, but students must be at least 3 years old by October 1st.
Intro to Ballet (Ages 5-7) (1 hour)
Thursdays 4:15 – 5:00 PM
Basic beginner Ballet technique. Students must be 5 years old by October 1st.
Ballet I (Ages 6+) (1 hour)
Wednesdays 5:30 – 6:30 PM
Beginner Ballet technique.
Ballet II (Ages 10+) (1 hour)
Mondays 5:00 – 6:00 PM
Intermediate Ballet technique.
Ballet III (1 1/2 hours) and Pointe III (1/2 hour) (Ages 12+)
Recommendation ONLY
Mondays 6:00 – 7:30 PM Ballet III
Mondays 7:30 – 8:00 PM Pointe III
Intermediate/Advanced Ballet technique and intermediate/advanced pointe. Two Ballet classes per week are recommended.
Ballet IV (1 1/2 hours) and Pointe IV (1/2 hour) (Ages 13+)
Recommendation ONLY
Thursdays 6:30 – 8:00 PM Ballet IV
Thursdays 8:00 – 8:30 PM Pointe IV
Advanced Ballet technique and advanced Pointe – adding one Jazz class is strongly recommended.
