CHARACTER COMPANY
PYT Senior Conservatory students will further improve their acting and characterization skills by producing dynamic and thought-provoking plays and musicals that encourage intelligent dialogue about the production’s characters, plot, and themes. Shows produced by The Character Company will be directed and rehearsed workshop style with separate emphasis on book study, literary significance and cultural impact, as well as a heightened focus on truthful acting, dramatic interpretation and storytelling techniques. Chudu the Goat-Man, Armida the blacksmith’s daughter, and Prince Christopher the violin-playing heir to the throne are shunned for being different. Pushed to the brink by pressures to conform, they head up into the mountains to jump. Once on the road, their paths not only intersect with one another and the dreaded Six-Fingered Man – they come face-to-face with themselves.

DANCE ALLEGRO and CompanyJAZZ
PYT’s ballet and jazz performing ensembles, give talented and committed young dancers an opportunity to learn and perform original choreography and works from classic repertoire as well as to study with a variety of choreographers and master teachers. Company members are selected through an audition process which is open to qualified PYT students as well as dancers from the community.

Company JAZZ will rehearse Wednesday evenings, 7:30 – 8:30pm.

Dance Allegro: ages 13 – 18

**Attend all scheduled rehearsals.
**Enroll in recommended technique classes:
---Intermediate Level II & III - 2 ballet classes per week.
---Advanced Level IV & V - 3 ballet classes per week.
