PERFORMING ON STAGE
As an extension of their performing arts education, PYT students
have numerous opportunities to perform on stage.
PYT Mainstage Productions
Mainstage productions are fully-staged professional plays and musicals that feature adult performers as well as children, and are presented for school and family audiences at Bethlehem's Historic Charles A. Brown Ice House on Sand Island and Allentown's Scottish Rite Cathedral. Students ages 6 and up who are enrolled in full-year PYT classes are eligible to audition. Being a PYT student does not guarantee a role and, on occasion, it may be necessary to cast a non-PYT student in a Mainstage production.
PYT Performs!
PYT Performs! features all Drama/Dance classes and selected Dance Division classes in an end-of-the-year showcase. This year's performance will be held on Sunday, April 20, at The Scottish Rite Cathedral. A PYT Performs! T-shirt is included with tuition.
Senior Cabaret
Senior Cabaret on February 8th and 9th will offer PYT's most advanced students an opportunity to showcase both their acting and singing talents in an evening of musical theatre scenes and songs. The Cabaret will be choreographed by PYT staff, as well as guest directors including Stephen Casey, Artistic Director of Bucks County Playhouse. Please note: students must be enrolled full-year in order to participate in Senior Cabaret.
Voice Concert
Students in Private Voice, Semi-private Voice, and Singing On Stage will be featured in a Holiday concert December 18th, and a Spring concert on April 25th.
Dance Concert
Dance Division students and selected Senior Cabaret
performers will perform in a Dance Concert on June 8th
at Moravian College's Foy Hall.
Evening Of Scenes
Students in Performance Intensive, Master Class, Advanced Acting and Improv and Scene Study will present an evening of scenes and monologues on March 10th.
NEW!
Dance Performing Ensembles
Students with teacher recommendation may audition for CompanyJAZZ and DanceAllegro, PYT's jazz and ballet performing ensembles. These ensembles will have performance opportunities throughout the year.
