THE DANCE PROGRAM
With Creative Movement for preschoolers to advanced classes, PYT's Dance Program meets the needs of all students, from eager beginner to aspiring professional. Dancers in Concert on Sunday, June 7, 2009, will feature all dance students.
PLEASE NOTE: This 33-week program begins Sep 15, 2008 and ends June 7, 2009.

BALLET BEGINNER - LEVEL V
Students are placed in classes according to their age, experience, and ability, and are advanced individually through each level.* Most students can expect to remain in each level for two years. Instruction progresses from basic barre and center work to combined technique and pointe work for the more accomplished dancer.

PETITE BALLET - Ages 3-4
An introduction to creative movement which fosters a child’s natural creativity and imagination while teaching basic dance steps. Large motor skills, musical awareness, and coordination are fostered as children move to classical and contemporary music. Must be age 3 by Nov. 1 st.

PRE-BALLET - Ages 4-5

Concentration on developing coordination, creative expression, and rhythm through basic dance fundamentals. Students are introduced to basic ballet terminology. No previous training required.

Dance Division students will perform in Dancers in Concert on June 7th.

Funky energy and "MTV"-style fun for the non-dancer and dancer alike. Not recommended for children under the age of 9. No previous training required.

An introduction to to great choreographers of the Broadway Stage. Students will learn dance steps and styles from the hit musicals made famous by the following: Agnes DeMille, Bob Fosse, Michael Bennett, Gillian Lyne, and Susan Stroeman. Placement class required.
