Ballet

Ballet is the foundation for all dance forms, and PYT recommends all dance students take Ballet to achieve a solid foundation as they explore the art of Dance. Instruction progresses through basic barre and center work to develop posture, alignment and flexibility. PYT offers pointe work for the more accomplished dancer.

Pre-Ballet (Ages 3-5) (3/4 hour)

No previous training required, but must be 3 years old by October 1st.

Thursdays:   4:15 – 5:00 PM

Saturdays:   11:00 – 11:45 AM

Beginning Ballet (Ages 5-6) 

Basic beginner Ballet technique. 5 years old by October 1st.

Mondays:    4:15 – 5:00 PM (45 mins)

Saturdays:   9:00 – 10:00 AM (1 hour)

Ballet I (Ages 7+) (1 hour)

Beginner Ballet technique.

Mondays:   5:00 – 6:00 PM

Ballet II (Ages 9+) (1 hour)

Intermediate Ballet technique. 2 Ballet classes per week recommended.

Mondays:    6:00 – 7:00 PM

Ballet III (Ages 11+) (1 ½ hours)

Intermediate Ballet technique. 2 Ballet classes per week recommended.

Mondays:    7:00-8:30 PM

Ballet IV (1 ½ hours) and Pointe (1/2 hour)

Intermediate Ballet technique with Pointe. 2 Ballet classes per week recommended.

Mondays:    7:00 – 8:30 PM

8:30 – 9:00 PM Pointe

Ballet V (1 ½ hours) & Pointe (1/2 hour)

Advanced Ballet technique and intermediate/advanced Pointe. Adding 1 Jazz class is strongly recommended.

Thursdays:  7:30 – 9:00 PM

9:00 – 9:30 PM Pointe

Teen Ballet (Ages 13+) (1 hour)

This class for Teens is an introduction to basic Ballet technique- no previous training required and is a perfect companion class for Drama Division students.

 Wednesdays: 7:30 – 8:30 PM
