Mainstage Productions

PYT’s literature-based Mainstage productions educate, inspire, and entertain young audiences and their families. These professionally staged shows are seen by a school and family audience of 20,000 annually.

These productions are in part, an outgrowth of PYT's performing arts classes for children. They are cast age-appropriately, enabling PYT student actors, singers and dancers to work alongside and learn from professional adult performers (151 students were cast in productions last year alone). There are literally no other children’s theatres in the country that offer this opportunity to as many children. All the children in the cast, whether they have lead roles or ensemble parts, develop a palpable sense of responsibility as they contribute their talents to the production.

Teachers who bring their classes regularly comment that their students were more engrossed in the performance because there were childrne their own age in the show.

PYT’s performs its MainStage productions at the 240-seat Charles A. Brown IceHouse on Sand Island in downtown Bethlehem and at the 760-seat Scottish Rite Cathedral in Allentown. Both theatres are fully accessible for theatergoers with limited mobility. Please let us know of any special needs when purchasing tickets.
